Kick Mosquitoes Down a Notch This Summer
For those of us who hate the thought of slathering on dangerous chemicals like DEET just to enjoy a summer picnic without mosquito bites, there is good news!
Bug Bam has created these fantastic wristbands that resemble “cause” bracelets and are amazingly effective in repelling mosquitoes. All-natural (made with plant oils), DEET-free, and 100% recyclable, these wristbands are waterproof, sweat-proof, and last up to 100 hours.
You can even put them on the chair legs as you sit down to enjoy your outdoor barbeque feast. They have a citron-y fragrance, but you don’t smell like you’ve been dipped in citronella wax. For just a few bucks, Bug Bam can help you can stay safe, stylin’, and most importantly, unbitten.
Bug Bam wristbands are available in kid-size at LeapsandBounds, and adult-size at Wal-Mart and BJs’ stores. More info at BugBam.com.

Was wondering if these are available in South Africa or if they will be available here any time soon?
Dang, what a great way to keep them at bay! As a survivor of West Nile Virus, I’m all too happy to keep mosquitos from taking a bite. Thanks.
Hi Debbie,
Unfortunately Bug Bam products are not available in South Africa as yet. Hopefully we will have a Distributor in SA in the near future though.
Thanks for your interest and we look forward to having you as a customer soon!
Cheers

cool! do they by any chance repel ticks too?
I think mosquitoes and other flying insects are atracted by different smells than ticks, so probably not, but I’m not sure.
I wonder how many I would have to wear to be outside in July in Austin, TX? Can I buy in bulk?
Hi Skye — Having grown up in the South, I know exactly what you mean! But these wristbands have been tested in the rain forests and wilds of Australia, so I’ll bet one would do ya (well, one at a time at least!).
I did check on buying a box at a time and Amazon sells them by the box (12 wristbands):

They sell kids’ size by the box on Amazon, too.
Thanks!
